The Lime Tree Theatre | Belltable seeks to employ a Stage Technician. This role is a key role in the team at both theatres, providing technical support to the incoming performers and companies.
Duties will include:
- Assisting in all technical functions of the Lime Tree and Belltable theatres
- Taking responsibility for individual aspects of the technical functions as directed by the Technical Manager, including liaising with companies, performers and promoters to ascertain technical requirements
- Being in attendance throughout get-in and get-out, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently and with due care of the employees and property of the Lime Tree and Belltable theatre, and those of the visiting companies and performers.
- Supervising the use of all technical equipment
- Screening of films as required
- Providing technical support to all users of the Lime Tree Theatre, Belltable and any other venues being used from time to time, under the direction of the Technical Manager
The successful candidate will have prior experience of working in a stage environment and have a practical knowledge of technical theatre and how the associated tools and hardware are used within the job. However, regular skills training will form a part of the role. He/she will have the ability to work under pressure and be willing to work the differing shift patterns and hours required in a busy theatre environment.
This recruitment process will also serve to establish a panel of skilled practitioners from which candidates will be selected for part-time and casual work at both theatres in the coming season.
