Members week invited to attend Theatre Forum’s AGM on Zoom at 12 noon on Friday 29 September 2023.
Agenda
- To 2022 AGM minutes were approved.
- The Company’s Annual Report and Financial Statements for the Year ended 31 December 2022were considered together with the report of the statutory auditors
- The Directors were authorised to appoint the statutory auditor and to fix their remuneration
- Election candidates presented their statements.
- The Chair presented the Review of the company’s affairs and overview of the 2024-2026 strategy
- The Directors were authorised to register a new trading/business name and amend the company’s Constitution in accordance with its 2024-2028 strategy
The Election results were counted and verified. The results of the election are that candidates Tom Creed and Paul Johnson have been elected to serve a second term, and Lynnette Moran has been newly elected to the board.

Tom Creed - Opera and Theatre Director
Tom Creed is one of Ireland’s leading opera and theatre directors, with a particular focus on new plays and operas by emerging and established writers and composers. His productions have been seen at all the major Irish theatres and festivals, and internationally in over 30 cities on three continents.
Tom was previously Festival Director of Cork Midsummer Festival, Theatre and Dance Curator of Kilkenny Arts Festival and Associate Director of Rough Magic Theatre Company. He is a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of Culture Ireland, chair of GAZE Film Festival and a board member of Theatre Forum, and was a member of the steering committee of the National Campaign for the Arts from 2016 to 2022.
He recently completed an MFA in Art in the Contemporary World at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, and is Curator for Ireland’s representation at the 2023 Prague Quadrennial.

Paul Johnson - Creative Strategy Arts Consultant, Coach and Mentor
A creative and strategic thinker with extensive experience in arts management, leadership, strategy development and governance. Paul is the former Chief Executive of Dance Ireland, a resource & service membership organisation, where he led on the successful opening of DanceHouse, establishing a public-facing flagship home for dance in Ireland.
His background is in dance (performer, choreographer & creative collaborator) working with a range of companies including Dublin Contemporary Dance Theatre, IMDT, Scottish Ballet Steps Out, TAG Theatre Co, and Druid Theatre Co. He ran his own company MaNDaNCE (1991-2001) and was appointed Choreographer in Residence with Project Arts Centre (1998 – 2001) documented in Fine Lines on Shifting Ground: Reflections on a Choreographic Process (Project Press, 2000).
Other roles included Executive Assistant to the producer (Brother Films), Artists Services Manager with the Arts Council, and Registrar of Aosdána (2003 – 2006).
His governance & trustee experience includes serving on the boards of the Arts Council, Dance Resource Base NI, Ballet Ireland, Create, Theatre Forum and IMDT.
Johnson holds a BA and MA in Communications & Cultural Studies from DCU.
In addition to undertaking his own professional development, he is currently engaged in coaching & mentoring artists alongside strategy development processes for a range of arts & culture clients.
Ailish McCarthy - Candidate for NCFA steering committee, Night-Time Economy advisor, MCM mentor, Irish Comedy Guide founder
I’ve previously worked in accounts for 10 years, which included Project Arts Centre, National Gallery of Ireland, Theatre Club and Aviary Talent.
I’m a consultant with the Night-Time Economy Taskforce, a mentor and active member of Minding Creative Minds, previously was a treasurer for Independent Youth Theatre, founder of the Irish Comedy Guide, and candidate for the National Campaign for the Arts Steering Committee for multidisciplinary arts. I was also the lead in the feature film 32a. I produced multiple shows in Dublin Fringe, which includes Big Bobby, little Bobby which won a fringe award to be programmed as part of the First Fortnight festival.
My priority is building the Arts in Ireland and I’m in regular contact with NTE and the Arts Council, part of which was a catalyst for their new strategy to support emerging artforms in their EDI plan for 2023-8.
My day job is a project manager and I think I’d be a huge support to Theatre Forum.
Lynnette Moran - Live Collision International Festival & field:arts Director
Lynnette Moran is a Creative Producer & Festival Director specialising in Live Art, Theatre, Visual Art and Digital platforms; with distinct experience of producing collaborative & socially engaged arts practice & large scale national and international commissions.In 2009 Lynnette established Live Collision, Ireland’s leading annual curated festival of Live Art in Ireland.
Lynnette has been Creative Producer with ANU productions & Louise Lowe since 2013. She is one of two core producers on all productions by the company. Together ANU have created 32 seminal works: public art commissions, gallery installations, and museum interpretations. Building a global reputation for creating transformative experiences in unconventional locations and authentic historical sites. ANU in partnership with Landmark Productions and MoLI, curated and presented the unprecedented Ulysses 2.2 funded by Arts Council’s Open Call award.
In 2020, Lynnette co-founded and is Director of field:arts – a creative production support pilot funded by Arts Council Ireland. field:arts cultivates growth, sustainability and ambition across the independent contemporary arts sector in Ireland by prioritising the fundamental relationship between the Creative Producer and Artist. Lynnette currently produces the work of independent artists – Amanda Coogan, Maïa Nunes and Yusuf Mufutau.
Previously, Lynnette was founder & Lead Producer for CAPP (Collaborative Art Partnership Programme) an unprecedented four year transnational partnership across six European countries and nine partner organisations co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union focusing on collaborative & socially engaged practice and commissions across Europe between (2014 – 2018).
Lynnette began her career in London, cutting her teeth with some of the UK’s leading arts organisations including LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre) and BAC (Battersea Arts Centre) where she developed her practice as a Creative Producer. She holds a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art and an MA in Performance Art from Goldsmiths College, London.
