Candidates for Election to the Theatre Forum board
Theatre Forum is inviting candidates to stand for election for board positions at the company’s upcoming AGM on 29 September 2023 when three of the board’s current directors retire by rotation. We are looking for candidates who want to help make our sector stronger and our membership organisation more inclusive for future generations of artists, arts workers, and audiences.  If you’re interested in guiding Theatre Forum’s strategic development and leading change in the professional performing arts sector, we’d encourage you to stand for election. Nominations are welcome from all member categories – producers, artists, freelancers, artistic, company, festival, and venue directors – as well as any professional working in or with arts organisations.
The role
Theatre Forum is a registered charity, so all board director positions are voluntary and unremunerated, though travel expenses are paid. Â Experience of being on a board is not essential as induction will be provided. The Board meets up to a maximum of eight times a year with some additional working group meetings and planning days. Online attendance at meetings is facilitated.
Apply
Any Theatre Forum member can nominate a candidate but there’s no requirement for any candidate to be a Theatre Forum member.  We encourage nominations of people with a diversity of national, ethnic, cultural or socio-economic groups including, but not limited to, Asian, Black, Traveller and minority ethnic, refugees, people with disabilities, working-class and LGBTQIA+ people.
Complete your nomination by 5pm on 31 August 2023. Â If you would prefer to send your nomination in another format, just tell director@theatreforum.ie.
We’ll be in touch with candidates about the election process before the AGM notice is issued on 7 September 2023.
