Theatre Forum is now Performing Arts Forum

On 17 June, we held an informative session designed specifically for arts centres and festivals, providing a clear introduction to GDPR and privacy in the context of managing audience relationships. Huge thanks to Katy Raines from Indigo and Dean Reidy from Ticketsolve.

The session focused in particular on the use of legitimate interest as a legal basis for marketing to ticket buyers. We explored what legitimate interest means in practice, when it is appropriate to rely on it, and how to balance your organisation’s needs with your audience’s rights.

This session was especially useful for those working in marketing, communications, development, or anyone responsible for managing audience data. Whether you’re new to GDPR or looking to refresh your understanding, the session offered practical guidance and a space for open discussion.
