The Greening Tech Forum took place on 2nd November 2021, as part of the Greening Arts Centres project. The Forum featured the work of Technical Managers and Stage Technicians in theatres and arts centres across the country to reduce their environmental impacts.
Nick Anton (Dunamaise Arts Centre), Jay Kavanagh (The Lime Tree Theatre | Belltable) and Mike O’Halloran (NUI Galway) presented on some of the issues they are addressing, including stage lighting, waste management, HVAC and Building Management Systems, working with incoming companies, and reducing consumables, as well as looking at the challenges ahead to reduce the carbon footprint of their organisations.
They were joined by Jaci Stewart from Dundee Rep and Scottish Dance Theatre who talked about the work she has undertaken over the last six years to green the organisation, in particular reducing energy usage, and the plans they have for the future.
