Dublin City Council Culture Company runs cultural initiatives and buildings across the city with, and for, the people of Dublin.

We are seeking to appoint a full time Engagement Coordinator to work with our Engagement team to help activate our Company values.
The Engagement team plays a central role in the Culture Company’s work. Through our programmes you will listen and learn about what matters to people across the city. You will help to deliver and coordinate our Culture Club programme and also support our Tea & Chats and Your Tenement Memories programmes.
Culture Club
Culture Club is a series of hosted talks, tours and activities that introduce and encourage people to connect with the cultural spaces of the city. Working closely with our partners, we open up new ways for people to access cultural activity more easily and confidently in order to develop and expand their cultural habits.
Tea & ChatsÂ
Tea & Chats is an ongoing programme of informal and open conversations over a cup of tea with people about what matters to them. By listening and connecting, we can build relationships, collaborate and suggest ways for people to explore the city’s culture.
Your Tenement MemoriesÂ
Your Tenement Memories is a series of ongoing conversations with people across the city that gathers memories of tenement life in Dublin for 14 Henrietta Street. By listening and talking with visitors, historians, local residents and their families and through the knowledge of others, the museum continues to discover new stories, gathering memories and adding to the museum’s collection and visitor experience.
About the role
Function and role specification
You will be responsible for ensuring that Culture Clubs are successfully planned, coordinated and hosted in multiple sites across the city in multiple formats, so that each event provides a positive experience for the people attending. As coordinator and host, you will have responsibility for delivering a programme of highly engaging and welcoming Culture Clubs that enable people to connect with each other and with culture across the city.
You will also support the delivery of the Tea & Chats and Your Tenement Memories programmes. Throughout your work, you will ensure that all participants are made to feel welcomed and comfortable and that the opportunity for conversation and connection is incorporated, to facilitate the participants ongoing engagement with Dublin City Council Culture Company and the wider cultural offer of the city.

This is a full time role, with a fixed term contract of three years. A six month probationary period applies.
The salary is €34,811 per annum.

Role requirements
Person specification
The ideal person for this role will have:
- A real interest in working directly with people to create opportunities for them to connect with culture in different ways.
- An understanding of the importance of listening to people and responding to what we hear.
- Strong facilitation skills and an ability to facilitate programmes for a wide range of people in different settings.
- An ability to coordinate and schedule with strong administration skills.
- A willingness to learn and develop new approaches.
- A willingness to work flexibly, including some evening/weekend work when required.
Essential Criteria
- A minimum of two years relevant or transferable experience in planning, coordination and delivery of cultural or community programmes and projects.
- A proven track record of successfully delivering and facilitating people-focused consultation or engagement programmes (which may include cultural or community projects – or similar).
- An ability to work as part of a team, to be able to multitask, remain calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent administrative, organisational, reporting and IT skills (including G Suite, CRM, Ticketsolve etc.) or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to learn.
- An understanding of the work of Dublin City Council Culture Company and its ambitions.
