In conversation with Adam Benjamin

Inclusive Dance Cork are delighted to welcome our first guest in our Online Summer Conversation Series on Monday, 21st July, 6.30–8.00pm (IST) when Adam Benjamin will be in conversation with IDC Artistic Director, Rhona Coughlan.

Adam is a renowned choreographer, educator, and pioneer of integrated dance. He was co-founder and artistic director of CandoCo Dance Company (1991–1998), the first professional company for disabled and non-disabled dancers. Adam’s accolades include a TimeOut London Performance Award and a National Teaching Fellowship. His seminal book, Making an Entrance (Routledge, 2001; 2nd ed. 2022), is a key text in the field.

He has choreographed for companies such as Vertigo Dance Company, Scottish Dance Theatre and Croí Glan Integrated Dance and has led major projects around the world. His teaching and facilitation are widely sought after, combining his expertise in improvisation, choreography, and inclusive dance practice. He continues to innovate through projects like The Dancers’ Forest.

Attendance is free, but registration is required. Please email louisa@firkincrane.ie to register and receive the Zoom link.

Our Summer conversation series will be of interest to dance and movement practitioners of all abilities, educators, students or anyone simply curious about inclusive dance practice.
