Dublin City Council Culture Company are inviting submissions to join their panel of Visitor Experience Assistants for their buildings and programmes.

Dublin City Council Culture Company is seeking applications to join our Visitor Experience Assistants Panel for 14 Henrietta Street, Richmond Barracks, our engagement programmes and associated venues.

The Visitor Experience team manages front-of-house operations and tours with its primary focus on providing a welcoming environment whilst ensuring the highest level of customer service for all who visit and engage with the Culture Company, including visitors, artists, audiences, venue hires, team members and the local community.

Collaboration is a key aspect of the department’s work, as the department works with all of the Culture Company teams to help maintain a safe and inclusive environment for everyone engaging with the cultural sites and programmes.

Visitor Experience Assistants help ensure the smooth daily running of Culture Company’s venues and events by:

  • Providing excellent customer service by sharing information, giving support and assisting in visitor experience.
  • Ensuring all contact with visitors is conducted professionally and in a timely fashion as the visitor-facing representative for the company.
  • Serving as the visitor experience representative in our venues including front of house, reception and at events.
  • Providing administrative, operational and customer support at events, front of house, and across venues and programs.
  • Shifts will include working weekends and evenings.
  • Utilising our ticketing system (Ticketsolve) to manage our ticketed events. This includes checking in visitors who have prebooked and selling walk up tickets.
  • Supporting financial administration, including daily cash-up and reconciliation.
  • Setting up meeting rooms, events and supporting venue hires on site as required.

The ideal persons will come from diverse backgrounds in terms of their professional and life experiences but share a love for Dublin City, its community and history. The ideal panellist will possess clear and approachable communication skills and be able to provide exceptional customer service and demonstrate a strong interest in Dublin City Council Culture Company’s work.

How the Panel of preferred suppliers will operate:

  • Being on this panel may consist of being offered paid, part-time projects or rostered support work to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of activities at our venues, which include 14 Henrietta Street, Dublin 1 and Richmond Barracks, Dublin 8.
  • Depending on business needs, panel members may be offered long or short-term contracts for service – subject to their own availability.
  • Appointment to the panel is from February 2025 to May 2026.
  • All members of this panel are included as independent contractors and can be offered long term or short term contracts for service by the company when or as a need arises. If you are appointed to a panel you have the option to either accept or decline work or contracts when they are offered.
  • Project work when it is offered is either part-time or full time short term and all projects or work is paid. When a project is confirmed you will complete necessary training provided by the company. All training time is paid.
  • We also offer work via a monthly roster system. Shifts can range between 2 and 8 hours long. Contracted members of the panel may be offered hours depending on how busy the schedule is, monthly in advance. These shifts may be declined or accepted based on availability. Shifts may extend beyond standard office opening hours for private events or evening programming. All contractors must complete all necessary training provided by the company. All training time is paid.
  • All agreed work will be contracted via a contract for service. And all completed work should be invoiced by the individual.
  • Successful panellists will not be expected to work exclusively for the Culture Company.
